National Speakers Association – Arizona!

My journey began in 1989 at the University of Arizona. I did not have anything or anybody by my side except $5.00 and a dream. I left my family in California in search of my calling in Arizona. All I had was my desire to improve my life through an education and help others along the way. I never once deviated from my goal of becoming a family medicine physician even though everybody kept telling me to find a new career. I knew that all I needed was a chance and I would make the most of it. After a total of 12 years at the U of A ( BA, MPH and MD ), I became a physician in 2001.

My unique ability to motivate, comfort, inspire and lead my patients and fellow physicians helped me stand out. During my residency at Phoenix Baptist Family Medicine Program I was awarded the top resident award in the state of Arizona two years in a row and I was voted chief resident my last year of training. I have been voted a Top Doctor in Family Medicine for a total of 3 years since starting my practice in 2004. I am also in solo practice and have successfully maintained a business since starting in 2004. I am also a family man. I have two wonderful sons and have been married for 11 years to my beautiful wife!

I consider myself a people’s doctor. I never forget my humble beginnings and always remember what a true privilege it is to be a family medicine physician. I also take pride in being a great role model for anybody. I am in great health ( I stand 6 feet 2 inches tall and weigh 195 pounds and have completed 7 marathons since 2004) and practice what I preach to my patients and students ( I never have drank alcohol, tried any drugs nor smoked in my life! ). I have helped many people turn their lives around simply by showing them that I care and that I will be there every step of the way. I have shared my story with many groups since 1996 and love helping anybody dream about improving their lives through education and health.

Today my plans include to use my tremendous platform as a preventative health specialist and as a motivational specialist to start my new company: Dr Martin Jay Hernandez Motivational Specialist. My goal is to speak to any group in Arizona and the United States to promote preventative health, education, family unity, success through athletics and help people to live their dreams as I do every minute that I am alive!
