The Heart and Soul of Speaking: Passion, Power and Purpose

CSP, CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame, Naomi Rhode and CSP, CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame, Glenna Salsbury will be sharing the essence of speaking with passion power, and purpose. You will discover how to:

  • Identify your passion
  • Determine your power base
  • Utilize practical wisdom for telling great stories
  • Deliver transformational presentations with a clear sense of purpose

Here’s an opportunity to learn from two of the most legendary, remarkable speakers in all of NSA.

Experience the wisdom of two past national presidents of NSA, two CSPs, two CPAEs, two Cavett recipients, and two best friends. These two have each been professional speakers for more than 42 years! That amounts to more than 84 years of heart and soul… And they are still upright and sane!

Voice of Experience—Joel Weldon, CPAE

“I Love House Boating on Lake Powell: Almost Everyone Has a Story to Tell”

What do you tell your audiences when you speak? Do you tell them a story? Is it a personal story? Is it a story about someone you know? Is it about a stranger you’ve met? Almost everyone has a story to tell. But most people don’t know how to tell that story as effectively as it could be told!

In this fast paced, idea-filled session, you’ll learn how to take your stories and make them even better, in a whole new way. You’ll hear how you can use Joel’s NFV formula that he created many years ago, and how it has made his presentations so unique. Don’t miss this session … you might even end up going to Lake Powell as a bonus!

Extreme Speaker Makeover—Marketing Materials, featuring Janita Cooper and Maggie Hunts

Do you know the difference between a good video and a great video? Your clients do.

Are you too close to your presentation material to judge how it will be received by meeting planners? Do you make excuses for not having a demo you can send via email? Are you losing opportunities to speak due to a poor quality demonstration of what you do? If the answer to any of these questions is “yes,” you’ll want to see this Extreme Speaker Makeover with Maggie Hunts and Janita Cooper, Master Video Disc and Design, CEO.

You’ll learn how some of the Top Speaking Professionals are using video to enhance their business and their bottom line and how Maggie Hunts went from,”What do I do?” to “Wow, This is what I’ve been missing!” Maggie’s mother and close friends were the only ones she showed her video to – it was too long, couldn’t be emailed and it needed a professional lift. As Maggie said, “Janita, what do you mean the sound shouldn’t squeak when I hit the high notes?” Janita will show you how she gave Maggie a zillion product ideas and a super demo video. Bring your power pen because product ideas just roll out of her mouth.

Janita Cooper’s Master Video Disc and Design has been a valued audio/video production resource for corporate clients like NSA (VOE Monthly CD production and replicating), Thunderbird School of International Marketing, Banner Health, City of Phoenix, Arbonne International and Professional Speakers Larry Winget, Keith Harrell, Les Brown,Pamela Jett, Beth Terry, Neil Dempster and Marsha Petrie Sue and hundreds of others.

Maggie Hunts is the author of ‘IT’S A SWEET LIFE NOW, A Guide To Living Well & Happy With Diabetes.’ As a speaker, author and entertainer, Maggie opened for Mary Tyler Moore when Mary received her Woman Of The Year Award in New York. Maggie’s won top awards in international sales training for Intel Corporation, best upcoming sales person for AT&T and best stand up comedy in LA.

Business Building Session with Neil Dempster, CSP

The Business Building Session starts promptly at 12:15 and ends at 1:30 p.m. The Business Building session is designed to provide members with information and tools necessary to successfully build their speaking business. The format we are using is based on Jim Cathcart’s Eight Professional (Speaker) competencies. All morning attendees are welcome.

Putting the ‘PRO’ into Professional: Technology MUST-KNOWs to Impress Meeting Planners and Delight Audiences with Neil Dempster

Have you noticed? The technical knowledge required for speaking professionals today has escalated dramatically.

If you:

  • innocently think you can just show up and someone else will handle your AV needs
  • break into a sweat at the thought of embedding audio or video into PowerPoint
  • don’t know an XLR connection from a DI box
  • have watched others botch their presentations because of a technology blunder and said, “I never want that to happen to me!”

then you need to know how to put PRO into professional when it comes to presentations.

Neil Dempster, MBA, CSP our chapter’s immediate past-president, has spent the last decade learning from his own technology mistakes—and from hundreds he’s witnessed from other speakers. He shares his knowledge in this fast-paced, content-rich, humorous presentation about AV do’s and don’ts. You will leave with a list of NECESSARY items and at least a dozen tips that will keep you out of trouble when you face unforgiving audiences who expect a professional speaker to be, well, a PRO!

Come hear this outstanding program!
