President’s Message
You, Inc.
I just finished writing my second Minibük titled You, Inc. Own Who You Are. I wrote this second book because of the reception I received from the first one and have found these remarkable little gems to be one of the best marketing tools I have. People like to get them and love to read them.
Our main stage speaker this month, Dick Bruso, recommended this particular marketing strategy, and it’s one of the ways I now promote my image (brand) and business.
A long-standing member of NSA, Dick is also a recognized expert in the field of personal branding. He and his company, Heard Above The Noise, have helped dozens of NSA members, including me, with their personal branding.
Seth Godin, arguably the foremost authority on marketing today, says, “It’s no longer good enough to be good enough. Only the exceptional, the amazing, and the remarkable have a chance to build awareness, word of mouth, and profits.” Dick says, “As professional speakers, it’s absolutely critical we position ourselves uniquely in the marketplace by creating a brand that makes us stand out. To achieve success, we need to be Heard Above The Noise.”
If you’re absolutely passionate about what you do—with a clear vision of what you want your career to look like—you’re ready to create your brand. There’s no one in NSA better equipped to help you do that than Dick Bruso.
Don’t miss the April 21 chapter meeting. The future of your business may depend on it.
Sincerely,
Les Taylor les@lestaylor.net

The 8th Annual Women Entrepreneurs’ Small Business Boot Camp, produced by Susan Ratliff, was a huge success, thanks in part to such outstanding NSA speakers as Debra Exner, Gloria Petersen, Donna Newman, Patricia Drain, and Lynn Murphy. Topping it off was the $1,259 charity raffle donation to Girls Rule.
Gilat Ben-Dor recently fulfilled a lifelong dream: to finish a FULL marathon. She completed the 26.2 mile race on January 15 at the P.F. Chang’s Rock n Roll Arizona Marathon. Congrats!

MARKETING YOURSELF ONLINE
By Rich Hamilton rich@richhamilton.com
Does your website include a picture on nearly every page? It’s so easy to add pages in a WordPress website, but it may be harder to add a related photo. With a photo, your webpage will be received better and will rank better in Google. Use a stock photo source like BigStockPhoto.com. You can buy the smaller size images for your website for a buck or two. And include smiling faces. They sell better!

WORD TRIPPER FROM THE PLATFORM
By Barbara McNichol editor@barbaramcnichol.com
Do certain confusing words ever trip you up? This Word Tripper can set you straight!
Extensive, extended – “Extensive” means to a great degree, covering a great area, of great magnitude. “Extended” means stretched, prolonged, lengthened (at times used as a synonym for extensive). “The couple’s extensive European travels required extended credit to cover several unanticipated expenses.”
