President’s Message from Joan Koerber-Walker
When Beth Terry was helping me get ready for this year as your president of NSA Arizona, she warned me. Don’t blink – the time flies by so fast and you won’t want to miss a minute. She was so right! This year has flown past and on June 9th I will have the honor of inducting your new president, Alan Rigg. We’ll also be honoring this year’s Chapter Member of the Year.
OUR Year, 2006/2007, focused on two major goals, each important and aggressive, each crucial to the growth of our chapter AND the growth of each member’s business. They are:
Keep doing what we do so well. This includes our wonderfully produced and attended Saturday meetings as well as the intimate learning experiences we’ve created in the Living Room Forums, Speakers Lab, Candidate Program, and other programs. Our chapter is one of the strongest within NSA–financially, operationally, and in the talents of its leaders and members. We have a solid foundation, one upon which we’ll continue to build.
Raise the Awareness of the VALUE that NSA-Arizona and its members bring to our community. NSA and its members are among the best-kept secrets in our community. Those who know us do understand our value but many more groups have yet to learn about the fabulous resource they have in their own backyard. This year, we’ll proactively steps to raise awareness of NSA and NSA member value through special programs, communications, and branding.
My personal goal was to give every member the opportunity to benefit from NSA-Arizona involvement in this year–OUR YEAR.
I hope you have benefited from the efforts of your board, your executive director Gwen Henson, and what the many volunteers have done to make this year one of our best ever. Thanks to everyone for making our goals reality. And thanks to you for giving me the honor of serving as your president.
Joan Koerber-Walker

- June Cline will help you learn your humor style and offer 21 tip on how to make more money by adding more funny.
- Marsha Petrie Sue will show you easy to understand and simple to apply techniques to sell more products after your programs.
- Gwen Henson will share with you how to produce a better book and possibly create the next best seller.
- Eileen Roth will prove the old adage, “A place for everything and everything in its place” with her effective and successful organizing tips.
- Hilari Weinstein will help your light the room by breathing life and presence into all of your presentations.
- Dave Sherman knows the value of having BOR products. He will share with you how to produce books, CDs, DVDs and so much more.

Info Products: Tips to “Bottle and Sell” What You Know
Extend your reach beyond your presentation with these tips from Kendall SummerHawk.
If you’re out pounding the pavement, giving your signature presentations then you likely have a ripe opportunity to launch a high-end or “Platinum” type of coaching or consulting program.
You see, the big money isn’t in the speaking fees (although that certainly is nice), it’s in creating lucrative, high-end, high touch offers for an exclusive groups of your clients. For example, if your audience is corporate executives, you can create a one-year Platinum program that includes two in-person retreats, monthly expert interview CD and transcript sent to their door step, and monthly teleseminar focused on a specific topic of high interest to them. Limit your membership to just a dozen executives and the money you can charge will easily surpass several months of speaking fees all added up together!
Kendall SummerHawk shows entrepreneurs how they can brand, package, and price their services to create more money, time, and freedom in their business. To sign up for FREE tips like these, visit her site at http://www.kendallsummerhawk.com
Word Trippers from the Platform
Don’t let these common Word Trippers from Barbara McNichol trip you up.
Among, between – “Among” occurs with MORE THAN two things or people; “between” happens with ONLY two things or people. “Among the 128 members, 92 have e-mail access. Between AOL and Earthlink, AOL is the more popular choice.”
Amiable, amicable – “Amiable” refers to a person’s pleasant, social, agreeable qualities; “amicable” describes something showing goodwill and friendliness. “The mediator’s amiable personality helped bring about an amicable agreement.”
Browse, peruse – “Browse” means to inspect something in a leisurely way while “peruse” calls for reading it thoroughly, examining it with care. “When we browse through the newspaper, we skim the display ads quickly but we carefully peruse the help-wanted section.”
Word Trippers are featured in The Door Opener, an ezine that helps you open doors to your dreams through the written word. Subscribe at http://www.barbaramcnichol.com or send an email to editor@barbaramcnichol.com
