NSA-Arizona President’s Message from Joan Koerber-Walker

Welcome to the first newsletter of our 2006/2007 program year.

When chapter presidents come together, many speak of the excitement and vision they hope to bring to “their year” of leadership. This year, I hope we will come together to make it not “my year” but “OUR YEAR” to achieve the goals that our Board has embraced.

For 2006/2007 we have two major goals, each important and aggressive, each crucial to the growth of our chapter AND the growth of each member’s business. They are:

  1. Keep doing what we do so well. This includes our wonderfully produced and attended Saturday meetings as well as the intimate learning experiences we’ve created in the Living Room Forums, Speakers Lab, Candidate Program, and other programs. Our chapter is one of the strongest within NSA–financially, operationally, and in the talents of its leaders and members. We have a solid foundation, one upon which we’ll continue to build.
  2. Raise the Awareness of the VALUE that NSA-Arizona and its members bring to our community. NSA and its members are among the best-kept secrets in our community. Those who know us do understand our value BUT many more groups have yet to learn about the fabulous resource they have in their own back yard. This year, we’ll take proactive steps to raise awareness of NSA and NSA member value through special programs, communications, and branding. This cannot succeed as only a chapter initiative; it needs to be embraced by each and every one of us to succeed.

Throughout the year, this section of the newsletter will include your ideas and programs to help us to achieve our goals AND create opportunities that involve YOU. I have learned that the more I invest in time and energy, the more I grow and prosper both personally and professionally. Is that true for you, too?

My personal goal is to give every member the opportunity to benefit from NSA-Arizona involvement in this year–OUR YEAR.

I look forward to seeing you at our September Chapter meeting as we kick off a fantastic 2006/2007.

Joan Koerber-Walker, NSA-Arizona President 2006-2007

Fred Gleeck: Creating, Marketing and Selling Info Products to Double or Triple Your Income

In this information-packed session, Fred Gleeck will share his own well-tested system to help speakers market and sell information products.

A speaker for more than 20 years, Fred not only uses his system himself, but sees the benefits of his practical tips being used by hundreds of his clients. Fred does NOT make the majority of his money selling to other speakers; he makes it selling information products to a variety of well-targeted niches, and YOU can, too!

Here’s what you’ll learn:

  • 9 biggest mistakes speakers make in the info products field
  • 3 ways to produce audio programs and which one you should NEVER use
  • 3 most important elements you need to know to increase sales
  • 2 primary product categories and how they can be effectively used in your own line of products
  • how to effectively use both a “brochure” site and a “product” site to increase sales
  • how to create a line of info products in the next 30 days
  • microniching: what is it and why you need to use this method in your business
  • how to create software for $100 that can make you 100X or even 1000X more

About Fred Gleeck: As a keynote speaker and seminar leader, Fred leaves his audience members with a volume of information they can use immediately. Through stories and interaction, he makes the learning process fun.

VOE: Paul Sanders, Circulation Director, and Cic Cicolello, Circulation Account Executive, The Business Journal

NSA-Arizona Speaker Development Lab

Moving from a $750 speaker to a $5,000 speaker is not easy, but this Lab helps those who have that goal move to the next level. Attending the Lab costs only $75 a year. You can attend for free a of couple times to decide if it is for you. No reservations are necessary–just show up.

Participants can give a live 5 to15-minute presentation or show 5 to 10 minutes from a CD/video tape and get quality feedback and enrichment suggestions. The goal is to provide an “actor’s studio” where we tune up our material before a helpful audience of our peers. For questions, contact Silver Rose at Silver@SilverSpeaks.com

“WOW, what valuable information! I received great tips, ideas and critical comments. Immeasurable. Having the opportunity to adjust my presentation BEFORE giving it in public will allow me to provide my client with the program they deserve.” - Deborah M. Dubree

  • The most important logistical factor is whether the meeting works with your business schedules.

Word Trippers from the Platform

Stay away from using words that aren’t really words, like these two Word Trippers from Barbara McNichol.

Mischievous, mischievious – “Mischievous” means causing mischief, or being playful in a teasing way. “Mischievious” is not a word but rather a wrong pronunciation of mischievous. “The mischievous father enjoyed instigating spats among family members at Sunday dinner.”

Irregardless, regardless – Most references do not consider “irregardless” a word at all, even though it’s often heard in speech. Some include it, but state that “irregardless” is not generally accepted. Always use “regardless,” which means in spite of adverse conditions. “He will go on the trip regardless of the dangers.”

Word Trippers are featured in The Door Opener, an ezine that helps you open doors to your dreams through the written word. Subscribe at http://www.barbaramcnichol.com or send an email to mailto:editor@barbaramcnichol.com
