Motivational, empowering and fantastically entertaining, Dr. Max Stanley Chartrand has earned six advanced university degrees–all without hearing lectures because he’s profoundly deaf! He became severely hearing impaired as a toddler, and over time advanced to profound bilateral deafness as a result of toxic medications prescribed him for rheumatic fever. Yet he was always at or near the top of his class!
Today, Dr. Chartrand utilizes a cochlear implant and assistive technology as he takes his inspiring message across the world. An accomplished and highly published researcher, he has logged more than 18,000 hours of live presentations, dozens of textbooks and “how to” books. He serves on the Council of Nutritional & Environmental Medicine and several important advisory committees at the state and national level, including advisory services to the FDA. Dr. Chartrand says, “There is no obstacle, challenge, or handicap that one cannot overcome to achieve one’s fullest potential. It’s a matter of knowing how to get there and being determined enough to do it.” His mission is in helping people find their way and the hope and encouragement they need to arrive with flying colors.
He’s also a world class musician who thrills his audiences with beautiful symphonic and jazz performances. He’s comfortable in front of a classroom of doctoral students, a live television audience, guest conducting a symphony orchestra, or on the stage of a packed arena. Speaking passionately on a wide range of topics, Dr. Chartrand prescribes a strong dose of hope for those left behind by today’s society.
