Extreme Panels: Surprisingly Unique Formats for Asking & Getting Answers from Panelists

with Brian Walter, CSP, CPAE, Immediate Past President of NSA

Panels are lame. Except when they’re not. But a panel experience that audiences actually rave about is as rare as a unicorn sighting. To craft an Extreme Panel, speakers need to know both what you are trying to AVOID (repetition, sameness, platitudes, rambling, dearth of content audience members don’t already know)…and what you want (panelists "spilling" in a compelling way).

In Extreme Panels, on March 9th, Brian will vividly showcase for NSA-Arizona members and guests 15+ formats for asking questions to panelists in unexpected ways, while also structuring how the panelists’ responses are delivered.

Extreme Panel formats include:

  • Would You Rather polling
  • Lightning Round
  • Yes, no, maybe
  • One breath wonders
  • Next week, next month, next year tips
  • Hot Seat (make panelists squirm)

But wait, there’s more. Brian will demonstrate every format (as well as the importance of panel member “types”) with a star-studded diverse panel from our very own NSA-Arizona chapter. So you will get the Double Benefit of experiencing the Extreme Panel formats while ALSO hearing great answers about your speaking business from:

  • Kristin Arnold, CSP, Past national NSA President
  • Pamela Jett, CSP
  • Damian Mason, CSP

During this program you will learn how to:

  1. Jump start a panel discussion (give audience members hope instead of despair)
  2. Create and sustain exciting variety in questioning formats that generate truly insightful answers
  3. Transform audience members from information recipients to participants
