How to Be an Emotionally Intelligent Speaker: Using and Defusing Emotions On the Stage

with Marcia Reynolds, CSP

Do you know how your audience feels when you walk on the stage? How about when you walk off? The emotions you feel from the moment they see you to their reaction when you take their applause will impact what people learn, remember, and say about you in the future. Learn how to set your emotional tone up front, how to catch and shift distracting emotions, and how to script emotions for impact along with your words. Dr. Marcia Reynolds, CSP will take you on a joyful journey as you learn how to master your mind and the reactions of your audience when you speak.

  • Mentally prepare before your presentation
  • Master your emotions while speaking
  • Use emotional shifts to create a memorable experience for your audience

We are sad to report that Dr. Sean Stephenson passed away on August 28. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his wife Mindie, his family, and his many, many friends in both the speaking world and the world at large. A small man with a big heart, Sean was an incredible inspiration. Sean was originally slated to speak for our chapter this month.
