Steal the Show

with Michael Port

With all the uncertainty dominating our lives, Choose to Think BIG! When you dare to Think BIG, our April Speaker is the one you want to hear from!

Michael Port has written eight books, including Book Yourself Solid and Steal the Show, the latter of which—according to the former president of Starbucks—“might be the most unique and practical book ever written on the topic of public speaking.”

He was once a professional actor guest starring on shows like Sex & the City and Law & Order and in films like The Pelican Brief and Down to Earth. These days, Michael can be seen on MSNBC, CNBC, and PBS as an on-air expert in communication and business development and as the host of the most popular podcast on public speaking and performance, "Steal the Show" with Michael Port.

Join us online to learn:

  • What actors know about how to give better performances during keynotes, breakouts, and even workshops—in person or virtual
  • How to book yourself solid in every economy

Michael Port is the author of eight bestselling books, which have been translated into 29 languages, including Book Yourself Solid and Steal the Show. A few of his books have become perennial bestsellers and made it onto lists such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and USA Today. (Not too bad for someone who was told by his fourth-grade teacher that he had the worst spelling she’d seen in 25 years of teaching.)

Michael combined his acting, training, and business background to build Heroic Public Speaking Worldwide. Together with his wife and co-founder, Amy Port, at their 10,000 square-foot headquarters in New Jersey, they offer the most complete and effective speaker training in the world. Their clients include CEOs and founders, Admirals, Navy Seals, FBI agents, Olympians, politicians (but only the nice ones), bestselling authors, small business owners, and people leading movements and advancing important causes.

Michael, Amy and their team are committed to changing the world, one speech at a time.

Candidate Program

Effective Experiences: Presence, Platform, and Process in a Virtual World

Natalie J. Sayer

Have you had to shift your presentations from in-person to virtual?
Do you have the same audience command when you are virtual?
Is virtual right for you?

During this interactive candidate experience, we will explore ways to be as effective virtually as you are in-person.

Learning objectives:

  1. Know how to create a visual, virtual presence that keeps your audience engaged and focused.
  2. Understand various platforms to conduct virtual experiences.
  3. Identify the process—before, during and after—to create virtual experiences where your audiences will ask for more.

Come ready to learn, to share the good, bad and ugly of your virtual experiences, and to engage with your questions.

Natalie J. Sayer is a long-time NSA-Arizona professional member and certified executive leadership coach. As a coach, 100% of her work is virtual. She will share with the candidates what she has learned from the world of acting

You must be a current NSA-Arizona Candidate in good standing and register for the general chapter meeting in order to attend the Candidate session The Candidate session follows our monthly chapter meetings and runs from 12:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
