Rock Your Short Talk! A Step-by-Step Process to Build a Riveting 5-10 Minute Presentation

with Eleni Kelakos

As a professional speaker, you have something unique to say, to teach, to share. But can you share it compellingly and memorably in ten minutes? How about five minutes? At a time when attention spans (and convention speaking slots) are getting shorter and shorter, being able to deliver a sizzling short talk that highlights your stagecraft and expertise is more important than ever. And not only is a short talk a great way to make a big impact in a brief amount of time, it can be easily videotaped and shared online, attracting clients and further speaking opportunities.

This program will teach you a simple, easy-to-replicate,  narrative format for putting together a rockin’ short talk. You’ll define the topic and the elements of your talk, and pinpoint the signature story that shapes it. By the close of the program,  you’ll have crafted the bones of short a talk that not only teaches your audience an essential lesson or practice but moves them into feeling and action—and all in the space of ten minutes or less!

In this session you will:

  1. Position your presentation so it best serves your audience
  2. Learn and Implement the S.P.E.A.K. formula for creating a short talk
  3. Learn tools to start and end your talk with a bang

Eleni Kelakos, the Speaker Whisperer®, uses performance techniques learned over decades as a professional actress and singer in NYC and Hollywood to help executives and thought leaders speak with more confidence and impact.

When she’s not coaching individuals across the globe, or facilitating trainings at companies like General Motors, Allstate, and Lyft, Eleni practices what she preaches, firing up conference audiences with her signature keynote concerts and presentations.

A graduate of Brown University, Eleni is a past president of the National Speakers Association of Michigan. She’s sung the national anthem at Shea Stadium for three (winning) Mets games and produced four acclaimed CDs of original songs. Her songs have been featured in the film Jill and Jac, and danced to by America’s Got Talent semi-finalist Beth Ann Robinson.  Eleni is the author of the award-winning book Touch the Sky: Find Your Voice, Speak Your Truth, Make Your Mark, and the 2021 #1 Amazon best-seller Claim the Stage: A Woman’s Guide to Speaking Up, Standing Out, and Taking Leadership.
